How did it all start?
In 1989, my father, Bob Cowan, helped to convince me that my property was well suited for raising whitetail deer. With 35 years of experience managing Penn State University's Deer Farm, I trusted his instincts, and knew that I could rely on his knowledge. We bought five deer from Penn State and the rest is history! We currently are feeding 60+ deer and accomplished our 5th year CWD Herd Certification as of May, 2008. It has been an extremely, satisfying experience having the entire family involved in this business over the years! It is likely that Evergreen Springs Farm will continue to thrive in the future with the children and grandchildren at the helm. Feel free to set up a visit to our Farm to see our deer first hand!
Our Family:From left to right: Granddad, Bob Cowan, Cindy and Charlie Cowan, Jessica (our oldest daughter) with her dog Bentley, Brett (our son) and his wife Erica A Wedding at Evergreen Springs Farm!
Our youngest daughter, Erin, married Craig Herrold last summer just below the deer pens. They are currently living on the farm as they work on building their dream home above the deer pens.
