About the Farm
The Cowan Family has worked hard for 19 years to develop a healthy, well-managed herd with quality genetics and nutrition. While providing Whitetails primarily for breeding stock, we also service hunting clubs and smaller businesses as well.
Genetics We began our herd with the genetics of the renowned Penn State J-44 Buck. His fawn, "Gus" was the founding sire whose genetics are evident throughout the herd. Although J-44 was very nontypical, Gus maintained a 190 inch perfect, typical mainframe which he passed on to many of his offspring with the occasional nontypical showing up. Other bucks have been acquired and have improved the overall quality of the herd even more.
Nutrition Carefully managed and controlled feeding has produced a tremendously healthy herd. Water is continuously provided by several natural limestone springs on the property. Lots of pasture and cover are provided on the twenty-five fenced acres.
Age With the right combination of genetics and nutrition, whitetails that reach 3+ years of age, begin to show the true trophy potential of Evergreen Springs Farm. 200 inch 3 year olds are not uncommon!
